Sneaky Slime Mold

8:00 am
Found a slime mold along a forest trail leading into town. Must keep an eye on it.

Ramses' sketch of the slime mold, which looks like a pile of scribbled circles and curves. The slime mold has a neutral, stick figure face. Ramses has helpfull labeled the sketch "Slime Mold," and he's labeled two portions of the slime mold. The top of the pile he's labeled as "squiggly bit," while the bottom of the pile he's labeled as "fuzzy bit."

8:15 am
Slime mold is basking in a patch of sunlight falling through the forest canopy. Seems content.

8:35 am
Movement. Or a shadow. More observation needed

9:07 am
Beginning to wish I’d brought some snacks. Slime mold still in position.

10:13 am
Made friends with two chipmunks and a dung beetle. Slime mold might have moved a bit while I wasn’t looking. Concentrate.

12:30 pm
The chipmunks and I tossed acorns to the slime mold. It doesn’t seem interested. Probably wants a cupcake! Dung beetle has a cozy nest just behind the log I’m sitting on. Hasn’t introduced me to her family. I gave her a red pebble.

2:00 pm
The chipmunks left a while ago. Chatted with deer for a bit. They have no idea where to find pottage this time of day.

2:02 pm
Almost forgot. Slime mold is suspiciously still.

3:47 pm
Found a bit of twine in my pouch so I made a wreath. Tried to befriend a squirrel but she was in a hurry. I think she was late to a party. A fox was eager to catch up to her.

The slime mold finally moved! Sneaky little critter. The moment I turned to wave at Fox it slipped down the path.

4:30 pm
Managed to catch up to the slime mold. It had skittered off to rest a while by a log near a dung beetle with a red pebble.

6:00 pm
No more movement from the slime mold. Upon closer inspection, it might be a pile of pasta someone dropped on the forest floor. More research needed.
